Shannon Planer:  

attending U of I I worked at a pet store that was in the mall. Summers during high school until I left for Hawaii I worked at pools lifeguarding and teaching lessons. I didn't work while in Hawaii but got a job teaching lessons at a summer camp held at OSU before I even left Hawaii. I work there for the summer and then started working at another pet store while I finished my degree. After that I moved to Portland and started at OHSU in a neuroscience lab. I was in that labout about a year and a half before I started in my current job. I'm still at OHSU on the west campus (which is the primate center) and am working as a research assistant. I do a lot of animal work as well as a little lab work and lots of computer work. I get to do a little of everything. Most of what we do is dealing with AIDS research. I absolutly love my job and feel priveliged to be doing the work that I am and to work with the people that I do.
