Hi! My name is Shannon Thompson and I would have graduated from Lane Tech. in Chicago in 1980, but I was too busy having fun. I studied and took my GED and took my ACT and got a score of 30. I went to DePaul University for Media Communications, but had to drop due to being pregnant with my terrific son Chris! I am a single mother and it took a village to raise my child - I am so thankful to have fantastic family and friends!!! I worked in Commodities for over 20 years and then came the day that I could take it no longer. The industry had been good to me. But, I went from helping my customers face to face, then to over the phone, and then everything turned to e-mail and I am a people person so I grew to hate my job. So, I gave my notice without a game plan and then started Clinical Massage Therapy School at The Soma Institute at Jackson & State Street. I had some health problems last year, so I couldn't finish up at Soma. Now, I am going to National University of Health Sciences out on Lombard. The school is pretty awesome.
