Life
Left Manitoba in 1972 for Alberta, attended Grant McEwan Community College when it was just starting up and then Edmonton Secretarial College before marrying Mark A. Gomes and moving to Grande Prairie where I worked for the Native Friendship Centre for 5 years. I returned to Edmonton 1978 to attend N.A.I.T. for the Millwork and Carpentry program and married a second time to Robert Johnson of Hobbema - in 1979. I left Edmonton in 1984 and ran Leiha's Texas Fried Chicken with sister Debbie until 1986. I bought a bungalow in Wetaskiwin and have been there since! Children: Tiffany Orenda Johnson - 12 Feb 1980

Austin James Johnson 11 November 1999. I trained as a Correctional Officer in 1996 and worked for 2 years at Pe Sakastew in Hobbema. I left my job at Wetaskiwin Composite High School as Native Student Support Worker in order to stay home with special needs foster children. I am presently a single parent and have been for the last 17 years. I am headed back to Grant MacE. for Social Work Program (2yr)in Sept/02 and onto degree at UofC or UVic.
