Sharon's Story

Just turned 64, but don't feel like it. Have been here four years now.We are going on a cruise to Alaska June 2nd instead of going to NJ. Still love this area, and it is still growing. My Granddaughter (23) and Great Grandaughter (4)were down from Alabama last week. WE hit the Zoo, Gulf World and and went out on the Pirate Ship Cruise. Peter is going to be deployed this year. He will be in Fort Hood the entire month of October then sometime in December he will leave for Kuwait---------------------------------------- Just hit 65 funny I don't feel it. Pete was not deployed fortunately his birthday was Jan 5 he turned 60, they realize his age and made him retire on the 5th the group left on the 7th. He was very disappointed but I was glad. An International Air port (Green) opened here yesterday 15 minutes away and we now have Southwest Air flights should be cheaper for a while at least. That is all for now Went to NJ in March for a wedding, could not wait to get back home from the snow!!! Taking a cruise in October to Nassau, St Thomas & St Martin. So far we have lucked out with the oil spill. We were home f...Expand for more
or a week and left for NJ. Had another wedding in October, stayed for 10 days glad to be home again. Got to have lunch with Anita Osbourne and her Hubby and also Rosemary and Pastor Rich. Had a great time with them. The best thing about going home is the reconnect with old friends. Saw my dad again by the third visit he seems to look for us th, He will be 91 in May. Unfortunately he is in the nurseing home since 2004 and can hardly hear a thing. Sometimes he knows us sometimes not. He still remembers how to play the harmonica that was his favorite pastime. He lived with us for 14 years and He was supposed to come to FL with us but that did not work out. I hate to see him like that and sometimes wish I were closer so I could visit more. 66 now, things are great, no trips planned tired of running. Pete is well had a torn rota-tor cuff but is over therapy and healing. Went to Alabama in February for my grandson's funeral. Peter's sister-in-law and her boyfriend were here in April for a week. Daughter Brenda and her hubby Bill were here for a week in June. I am going to be a great grandmother again!! Time fly's.
