Sharon's Story
I lived on Rodeo street and went to Glencrest Elementary and Forest Oak Junior High. Instead of going to O.D. Wyatt I went to Poly for one year and then we moved to the Handley area where I graduated from Eastern Hills High School. I was petite with blonde hair and very shy unless it was around friends who really new me. I was a blue bird and camp fire girl. The only teacher I really remember is Mrs. Crone in the fourth grade at Glencrest. I loved Forest Oak Junior High and was the girl who liked everyone but only kept a few select close friends. Poly High School was just Ok but I really liked Eastern Hills High School and really came out of my shell and had many friends of whom I still stay close to. A part of me still feels connected to the 1971 class of O.D. Wyatt also. After graduation I moved to Tyler, Texas. I work...Expand for more
ed for 15 years at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital as the Nursing Administrative Assistant to the Director of Nurses. After working at TMFH I helped my husband in the family business which is Chamblee's Rose Nursery. I worked with my husband in the retail & growing operation of the business and also started a florist & gift shop. I have 2 children and 3 grandchildren. After 25 years and the children were growing up we purchased a beautiful 1918 historic home in Mineola, Texas. We moved to Mineola and I opened a Bed & Breakfast. After almost 15 years as an Innkeeper I closed our B&B and I stay very busy serving on several city boards and working on projects that benefit our great little town. I'm very proud of starting Mineola's Historical Museum which is where I am most days. You can find me on FB - SharonCarterChamblee
