Life Hi Everyone! I just saw where 4 yrs of Miami Norland Class, '61-'64 will have a Class Reunion next yr., May, 2011 in Ft. Lauderdale. Please go to Reunion Page on Classmates and sign up. If not on list, contact Org. Pass on to all you know. I hope many of our Class of '63 attend our Reunion. I am so happy, none of us are getting any younger LOL. Time we all got together and had some fun, remembering days long gone. I am Married, will be 44 yrs. 5/2010, a very long time lol. We have two Sons, Steve and Scott. Scott married October 2001 in Maui, of course we all went but the last reunion was approximately same time, so i couldn't go. I would have loved to attended! I retired in '95, haven't worked since and haven't missed it. Enjoy staying home, my husband retired as of Sept 1st. '04. We are not far from where i lived when going to Miami Norland, moved down immediately after he retired. I love it here. Of course it wasn't fun going through the 3 hurricanes, we really only had one that was bad that came through here and it was Wilma, '05. Frances came through the day after we moved down. We were very lucky through all of them, no damages. I love the Weather and all that is available here year round. I don't think he is going to get me to leave my New Home and Friends i have here now. My Kids visit and i have a Brother in Northern Florida. I like it here. I have met many new Friends in Meetup, meetup dot com. a fun way to meet new people and make friends. They schedule all kinds of events, Dinners, Brunches, Outdoor Concerts, Festivals, I am keeping busy running with them. Lots of Fun!! :) They have Groups for certain ages, married, single, certain activities, and the ones i am in are for anyone and everyone. I keep busy scheduling events for one Group, the ones i am in are Social Groups and enjoying myself. If you are active in Volleyball, Kayaking, Canoeing, Movies, Dancing, have your own Business, they do networking events, they do it all. They will give you lots of reasons to get out and meet others and have fun. Everyone i have met is friendly and there to have fun, make friends. You don't have to go by yourself for Dinner, etc, you can go with a Group. It is safe and fun. Just check out the group first, watch comments after an event, see what events they schedule the type of members. If all are respectful, having fun, signing up for events, it is a good group to join. You can make Friends to drive together to events and you can also invite your own guests to go with you. Without them joining the group. I have 3 beautiful Grandchildren, Shelby 14 now, Zacky 10, and Drew 6!! So much more fun with the grandkids vs. raising your own, can spoil and send them home...Expand for more
