Sharon's Story
Yes, it's me. I've been busy with life and don't take much time for friends or socializing.
I have 2 children, my son is 22 and my daughter is 16. I have two step-children 20, 22 and one step-granddaughter. I have provided daycare for children for 17 years, while going back to school and getting my Interior Decorating Degree (CID). I had a graphic design background prior to that. I decided to quit working when I had my daughter. Amazing how priorities change as we age.
I do small decorating jobs, make some crafts that I sell, design greeting cards, make bows for cheerleading. I have a great yard that is my passion. I recently had it certified as a National Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation. I love decorating my home/yard for all the special holdiays. I also do some small landscaping jobs.
(Jack of all trades, master of none)!!!
My husband (10yrs.) is a Firefighter. We have been together for 13 years....Expand for more
He is an Iowa farmboy. I'm sure he would tell you I am a devoted mom and wife. My family is definately my priority. When my daughter graduates I would like to devote more time to my decorating business and gardening. I am also contemplating working with animals as they have always been my "first love".
My son works for Clarion as a dialysis tech and is going to school for biomedical engineering. My daughter goes to Speedway H.S. She is a competiton dancer and cheerleader, she also cheers for school. She plans to attend college at the University of Evansville and possibly cheer there also. She plans to study Athletic Training and Physical Therapy and possibly Sports Medicine.
I've had ups and downs as we all have, but I have been extremely blessed as well. I say I've accomplished no "great things" but I guess raising a teenage boy to adulthood without killing him and him still speaking to me is a "great accomplishment."
