Sharon's Story
Life
After attending Morris Harvey College for a year I married a Florida man when I was 18 and moved to Carolina Beach, NC where he was in the Coast Guard. We had our first daughter, Claire, in 1969. We moved to St. Petersburg, Florida upon his discharge and after he graduated from college we moved to Jacksonville, FL where we had twin daughters, Holly and Heather, in 1973. I attended nursing school, but never liked medicine. I have my own mortgage company,Gates Financial, and have lived in the Orlando area for 16 years. Divorced since 1989, remarried December 1, 2001. ly 18 miles from me. Holly and Heather are artists, living in NM and New York City. My lovely daughters and grandsons are my greatest joy. I enjoy the mortgage business and my large garden. I still love to read and play the piano and sing. My husband, Bill, and I have travelled all over the world in the past years, but I always enjoy coming back to Florida.
I have attended every CHS '67 reunion, but wish that more of my classmates would come. I'm so grateful for the education I received at CHS, crowded, old, had to buy our own textbooks and pay for the city bus to get to class, but I'll put my secondary education up against any one else's. It has served me very well.
I miss West Virginia and plan to buy a home there some day for summer living.
