Sharon's Story
I only went to Cortez High School my last 1 1/2 years. I went to Maryvale High School in Phoenix before that time. It was hard to change schools and I really never got into the change to make new friends or really get involved with new activities. My inner school bowling kept me busy socially. After graduating from high school, I graduated from Glendale Community College with a degree in Journalism which I loved dearly. I enjoyed the writing and photography but I just wanted to write about my beloved sport of bowling. As I "traveled" through my years at GCC, I unfortunately discovered that I couldn't write just bowling articles for the newspaper, I would have to write on all sports. I didn't like that and didn't want to move out of town to write for a bowling magazine. So much for that love so I moved on to another one. I went into the dog industry, grooming and showing AKC dogs...Expand for more
and traveling around with a professional dog handler, etc. Great fun when you are a kid with -0- responsibilities. After 2 oops in the marriage department, reality set in for money and I stumbled into the CPA/pension field where I have been for about the past 29 years. If someone would have told me when I was 16 years old that I would be working in a cubicle later in life, I would have told them NO - never - well you know how that goes sometimes. So to balance out my very unnatural life style of "white collar," America, I work at the Phoenix Zoo as a Park Ranger on the weekends which is more my life style. I love animals and love the outdoors. What a great way to learn about exotic critters! I seem to have developed the perfect way to balance my very simple life. Not married and no kids. It wasn't planned that way but I walk with the Lord and this is the way it is supposed to be.
