Sharon's Story

UPDATE 7/30/2021 Covid still affecting the World. Nevada finally opened up June 1, 2021, Las Vegas getting back to normal. But another strain, DELTA, of this horrible killer has hit and we see younger people in the hospitals. As of today it is masks back on for everyone. I am back driving for LYFT and going to try to drive more as we can use the extra to finish the backyard. Oh yeah, I didn't mention, Trent and I bought a new home and moved in Oct 31,2020. He has custody of his little girl and we wanted to show the court that he is a responsible parent. Back to what's happening with Covid....we are praying for the city not to be shut down. So many will be out of work. My children are doing well. The oldest, Trevor, moved to Texas. A little town north of Austin. He and his wife can work from home and he will fly back to California every few weeks sometimes making a stop here in Vegas. Trevor's kids have all graduated from college and doing well. Tracey is working hard as an Escrow Officer, raising her last one, Evan will be 13 this year and taller than me! He is a really nice young man. Trent my youngest at 44 has taken on being a sort of caretaker for me and his Dad. He also works two jobs and takes care of his little one. I am amazed how much he does and is always there if he is needed. I can get around ok, driving for Lyft gets me out. I order groceries for pickup and Amazon Prime and I can be good friends, lol. Yep my back has given me alot of trouble. Last shots didn't work. Not sure why and I am wondering if it was the doctor. I will check to see about going to my other doctor where I had a series of shots and I believe they helped. Getting older doesn't help either. I have been in contact via Facebook with many classmates since the 50th reunion in 2018. All seem to be doing well. My thoughts and prayers go out to the MALCOM "DOUG" TAYLOR, our class President who passed away suddenly after suffering a massive stroke June 2021.😞 I had a little crush on you, Doug, in our senior year🤭RIP This may be my last update as my subscription runs out this year. Follow me on Facebook, let's keep friendships alive. UPDATE. 6/28/2020 Half of the year is over. What a wild 6 mths this has been in our country. Donald Trump is hoping for a re-election to the position as President of the United States. Some like him and some don't. We will see what happens in the Nov 2020 elections. The worst thing we have had is the Global Pandemic effecting the entire world, it is called CORONA VIRUS or COVID19. An upper respiratory virus that has, so far, caused over 499,000 deaths Worldwide, over 127,000 deaths in the United States. The most vunerable are the over 65 and those with respiratory conditions. We have had self quarantined, myself since March 26 2020. I go pick up my groceries. I have ordered meals to be delivered. I have only been in a grocery store once since March. I stopped driving LYFT then also. I may not go back to it as I get bronchitis and driving people around, in that close of quarters isn't worth getting sick. Let's update other good things!!! My son ,Trent, moved in with me. He went through a custody battle with his baby momma. The good news...HE WON! If momma moves out of state, Trent has primary and momma can get her for visits. She chose to move. He also has not had work due to the quarantine. Las Vegas was literally shut down. People out of jobs where large crowds could gather. He has been taking online class to become a teacher, was interviewed and accepted a position teaching 3rd grade. Trent has helped me packup and move stuff to storage and got my house up for sale. We will move to a larger home. My daughter Tracey, the middle one, and oldest, Trevor, are doing well. Tracey working from home during this pandemic and home schooling her son, as all schools shutdow...Expand for more
n. Trevor stayed home from work also but was able to return after a month. All the grand kids and great grandkids are doing well. I have been doing a little crocheting, now I feel really old...lol. My days and nights get mixed up...I move a little slower.. The best part is I am still here! UPDATE 8/29/2018 Sorry to say I will not be attending the reunion this year. Health issues do not let me travel as I would like. I do not let it get me down....I stay as mobile as I can and know the limitations my back can handle. FAMILY UPDATE...Trent's son, David, is in his Senior year, turned 18, got a lettered school jacket, on varsity football team, grade average is B+ and he is in choral. Quite a young man. His daughter Nixie is growing, just turned 8 months and has been in 2 film projects Trent is involved in. Tracey is happy as an Escrow Officer, doing quite well. Her son Evan just turned 10 and keeps her busy. Her Daughter Alyssa is thriving as an Administration Counselor for Nevada State College and being mother to a new kindergartner, 5 yr old Brantley. He is missing two front teeth and thinks it is soooo"KOOL"...LOL. Tracy's son, Ricky is doing well as a service manager at Nissan. He and his lovely girlfriend, Nikki, just bought a house. They have a few fur babies running around 😄. Trevor and Lara are living in Livermore .Calif. Four of their 5 are living in the OC in Southern Calif. The 2 oldest, Brandon and Ryan, the twins, went to UC Fullerton and decided to stay in the area after graduation. Brandon and g/f Alyssa have a 2 1/2 yr old boy, Jackson. With their jobs and an active little one they keep busy. Ryan and g/f Amanda have a fur baby. Are their wedding bells in the future for the twins? Who knows but the great thing is they are happy! Andrew his wife Kayla and their 2 daughters, Emily 5 yrs and Avery 18 mths, moved to the OC this year. Andrew is a tech and found a great job there. Jacob graduated last year from UC at Fullerton and stayed a year. He recently moved back to the Bay Area. He missed all his friends especially playing soccer with his buddies. Kayla is in her second year at...you guessed it...UC Fullerton. She is applying for the nursing program. So with all the kids grown what are these empty nesters doing?....working and having some good old alone time together! It is so gratifying to see how my kids and grandkids and great grandkids are thriving. I am so very proud of all of them. Cheers to all that attend the 50th reunion. Have a grand time visiting and remembering the good old days! Life UPDATE!!!! 4/16/2018 Gosh, I have been officially retired for a couple of years now. Had a knee replacement Oct 2017. A little girl, Nixie, my youngest, Trent's first biological child. He has a son, who was one of his foster boys, he adopted a few years ago, makes him a single Dad of a 17yr old boy and 3 month girl. He lives in Las Vegas. My daughter Tracey is a mother of 3 and grandmother of 1, My greatgrandson, Brantley, who I took care of at age 2, he is now almost 5 and will start kindergarten in the fall. All of them are also here in Las Vegas. My oldest, Trevor, lives in Livermore CA. He has 5 grown kids. All went to the same college, University at Fullerton.
