Sharon's Story
My family moved from Anchorage just before my junior year. Relocated to upstate NY. OMG,I hated it!! After 7 months that I barely remember,( Spent a lot of time drunk.)I ended up preggers. Decided it was a good time to leave. One month before my 17th birthday I left home intending to go back to Alaska. Stopped in CA to visit someone I knew from Dimond. Sandy Sumner, and ended up staying 25 years. Gave birth to my son DJ, got married and had another son James. ( Both of them still live in CA and I have 6 grandchildren between them with another on the way.) Moved around CA some but spent the longest time in Sonoma. Wine country!! Got divorced after 9 years. Remarried 2 years later. Stayed around Sonoma for many more years then moved to Oregon for 1 year then Idaho for 5 1/2. We were raising wolf hybrids at the time and CA was banning them, while Idaho had no laws against them. Ended up divorced again and moved back to NY. Still not crazy about it here but am close to my family and have some great friends. As for work I have been doing some form of cleaning since I was 18. or two years were I worked for the National Association of Independent Paralegals doing training seminars all over CA.) I have my own business now cleaning private homes. I also work part time at the local liquor store and sometimes I take care of national champion show dogs. Am lucky to love all my jobs! I am not in any serious relationship, mainly because I never got over my second husband. HE now says he feels the same and is coming out to see me in October. Have not seen each other in over 8 years, will see what happens. A few exciting highlights in my life have been the many places I traveled in my second marriage. Mexico, two cruises to the Virgin Islands, Hawaii and several trips across the lower 48. Another great thing happened when I worked for NAIP, and that was being asked by a lobbyist group called H.A.L.T, (Help Abolish Legal Tyranny) asked me to come to Washington D.C to work for them. Ended up saying no but was flattered to be asked. Then in 2000, after I moved here, was working for a large hotel chain and was named Housekeeper of the year out of over 2400 candidates. Have a plaque and everything. So anyway that's my life since 1974.
