Sharon's Story
I have had an interesting and busy life. I have 3 kids. One boy & 2 girls. I joined the army in 1976. We did a lot of traveling across the us & Europe mostly. I got my bachelors degree from MSSC back in 1985 after three attempts to complete it. I finished up in the ROTC program and got my Army Commission as a 2nd lieutenant. Then we went back to Germany and spent 5 more years. We arrived back in the US the day we went to war in Iran. I spent most of the war in Michigan. I worked for the Tank Automotive Command (TACOM). Then I was selected to go to grad school at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. So I finally got my education. I retired from the Army in 1996 and went to work for General Motors in Michigan and later moved to the assembly plant in Kansas City, KS. I have 3 grandchild...Expand for more
ren. All boys. Oldest is 11 and youngest 3-1/2. I retired from GM in 2008. When they started to downsize and offered early retirement packages. My husband was already retired and said he wanted to spend his days with me. His dad passed away Sept of 2011 so we brought his mother to live with us. He has 4 grand children and 3 great granddaughters. So as you can imagine we are very busy. So how have the last 40 years treated you? I hope we'll. it's amazing how the choices we make early in life affect us later on. I just love the kids especially when you can still rock and cuddle with them. The just grow too fast. My hobbies are: gardening, knitting, crocheting, painting, and I am going to learn to bead and quilt. This is fun catching up. Looking forward to hearing from you. Shari (Moore ) Carpenter
