Sharon's Story

I have made lemonade from life's lemons. Here are the lemons: in 1999 I was diagnosed with Hepatitis C and was forced to end my 20-year career as a court stenographer. In 2004 I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. In 2009 The Home Depot Design Center was downsized, as was my position, and I have been unemployed since 2009. 11, I graduated Queens University of Charlotte with a BS in Human & Community Services. In 2011, I became a board member of Samaritan House, a nonprofit organization that provides respite and recuperative services for homeless persons discharged from the hospital. I found my passion! Still unemployed... So who am I now? I’m an advocate for the homeless!!!!
