Sharon's Story
Life
I went to work at the Blytheville Housing Authority December 6, 1976, and that is where I am still employed. I have also worked at Bunge at Huffman during June wheat seaston and worked at Wal-Mart for about six months.
Before I went to work at the Housing Authority I worked at ACME Termite for about 1 month. I serve on the Community Council for LifeBlood and am an avid blood donor when my iron allows. I have been divorced for
almost 28 years....I had a dog, "Izzy-Bea" short for Isabella...she would have been 20 years old Oct. 2.
I lost her November 8, 2008 to cancer. She was my "baby girl" and I miss her every day.
I am a member of the Holly Grove Baptist Church and the Young Adult Sunday School Class there and I sing in the choir and sing specials by myself. I do the church bulletin each week and have done so for several years
now. I am truly blessed. My Dad is still living. He is 83 years old. We lost Mom September 1, 2013, after a very
long illness. We know she is not suffering anymore and is in a better place where she can walk and does
not have to prick her finger 4 times a day or takes pills or insulin shots. I have 3 nephews, 1 niece, 1 great
nephew and 3 great nieces. I enjoy surfing the net, sewing and I do some crafts. I lived 3 years in Cooter when I was married and then whe...Expand for more
n I got divorced I moved to the Number Nine Community and lived there for 17 years.
I moved to Blytheville the weekend before "9-1-1". It was a crazy week that week. It's not as bad living in town
as I thought it would be....I would much rather my house be sitting out on about an acre of land out in the country....but...as the song goes..."you can't always get what you want"! In spite of all the bad things....the "ride" has been great! I guess I have become a little independent....but after you live by yourself for so long it just comes
natural...my sister says I will never find anyone else to marry because I am so set in my ways....I said it would be
fine....as long as they do everything the way I want it there would not be any problems!!!! I am not taking any meds at this time in my life....for which I am also blessed! I do need to lose a few pounds of course.....other than that things are great! Only been in the hospital 3 times. Once for surgery and once for mono/strep....once for having a titanium plate put in my wrist. Like I said....I have been blessed! Hope we can get a reunion together for next year...maybe the first Saturday during October 2014 during the Cooter Fall Festival. I will be there regardless! Hope all of you can come "home" and see the rest of us....it would be great! E-Mail me!
