Sharon's Story
Hey guys. I can't believe it's been 40 years. I was somewhere between the 'heads' and prom queens. Now I'm a Social Worker (25 years today!) with Sac Co. trying to clarify my previous confusion!
I was usually in detention for cutting PE, or smoking in the bathroom, (don't smoke now) but an A Geek in English, bringing me to a 2nd career in writing. I'm a woman of extremes; from heavy metal to classical, at home in a dive bar or in the theater. Shakespeare, history buff, (who would have thought I hated history?)
People tell me I haven't changed much, so you'll probably recognize me right away. Still long hair, still a rebel.
Work in Sac, but moved up to wine country in El Dorado County.
Play the same Gibson I got in 66, and still love rock, just a little heavier than before (was anything heavier than Doors 'The End?').
Have two grownup daughters and two grandkids (8 & 9), who rock out to our old tunes and play Guitar Hero with me.
It's great rockin' out to music we listened to at DC. My daughter graduated from DC too, and both ...Expand for more
went to Will Rogers. One actually works there as a teacher! The other lives in my late parents home by DC. History repeats itself.
I'm not a computer geek, so I'm going to get a picture up as soon as somebody walks me through it. See lots of names I remember, and can't wait to reconnect. I ended up working with John Gruber, who I didn't even know at DC, and ended up working next to me 20 years ago! We were both going to our 20th high school reunion, and discovered it was the same one!
Marc Lombard, I remember Mr. Buffed?
I, too, remember smoking in the back, going to the Cottage dances. Anybody remember those? Tim Schmidt was in the New Breed and played there. Teen clubs..definately a thing of the past.
Good bands playing for high school kids. All part of the Country Club scene where it was hippyville. Michelle McAllister, where are you?
Linda, Jan, hope all are still with us.
Hope it's OK to name names. No confidentiality here I guess.
Enough said; I'll save by bio for later. Hope to hear from all my old buds. Sharon
