Sharon's Story
I had wonderful time at LHHS and have good memories. Since then, I have had a great life! I went onto CSUF for undergraduate and graduate work. My first job out of LHHS was working at Disneyland while going to college. Eventually, I became a college student intern during graduate school and went to work at newly formed OCTA. I developed a passion for public transportation and stayed in the field during my career wearing different hats. Finally figured out I was a great problem solver and the bigger the problem in solving and finding funding for transportation projects the more challenging.
I recently retired after 41 years working for public transportation agencies in Southern California as Chief Deputy Executive Director for Southern California Association of Governments. Along the way, worked to start-up transportation agencies while working with local officials, state legislature and congress to...Expand for more
fund many billion dollar projects that will help mobility for future generations. While I really enjoyed the work and colleagues, I retired July 6, 2015 to help with my newly born granddaughter Reagan born July 23, 2015. I may work part time after things settle down with my grandchildren on some key projects.
I was happily married for 23 years and have a wonderful son Ryan, daughter Kerry, son-in-law Kevin and two grandchildren Brady and Reagan. My two children had a wonderful life growing up in San Juan Capistrano and Coto de Caza. They were involved in many activities, played sports that involved many happy memories which they and I look forward to repeating with our grandchildren.
I was an avid golfer and played golf all round the country. I had both knees replaced in 2014 so have only been to practice field. Goal is to play golf with my grandchildren at some point in future.
Life is good!!!!
