Sharon's Story
I ended up working in health care, even though I always wanted to be a teacher. At first I was a Medical Assistant and worked in two practices, one of which was one of the largest in the area. When they downsized, I went back to school for nursing and have my license as an LPN. Had some really bad luck and we lost our house, prompting us to move up to Northern New York. have been certified as a Medical Coder. That is where I am trying to get work now.
I've been married for 37 years and have 3 grown children, two girls and one boy. The oldest is a female long haul truck driver, that is how I have seen so much of the country. My son has recently blessed me with my first grandchild. It sure took long enough to get one.
I'm lonely up here, I miss my friends from the Syracuse area. Whenever we go down there, I say I am going home. I try to keep busy with scrapbooking and other various crafts. I like movies and reading, they keep me occupied, too.
