Sharon's Story
Life
I finally got over my shyness.
Have been married almost 50 years to my high school sweetheart and have had 2 kids, adopted 2 special needs kids and have fostered 13. Everyone is grown and I am having the satisfaction of seeing them on an even keel.
I went back to school and got my nursing degree in 1990, worked at Overlake in oncology for 15 years and I am now retired from a home infusion company, but work a few days a month at Hospice to keep my hand in it.
For fun, I practice my piano, garden, quilt and read. I have traded hiking for fly-fishing. I have traveled through Norway, Sweden, Greece, Egypt and Turkey with no reservations, a backpack, and renting rooms from ...Expand for more
the locals.
I found long lost relatives in Scandinavia through the internet and we have traveled multiple times to see one another. And I learned how to do rosemaling.
If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the kitchen and add on a huge hobby room. My dream home would be a cottage beside a river. I'd be on the trail of the elusive steelhead.
My best friend would tell you I'm funny, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as BORING.
My husband still loves hot rods, so I, the librairian at heart, spend summer weekends at car shows listening to '60's music over the loudspeakers. And I still feel like that girl I used to be.
I have lived happily ever after.
