Sharon's Story

Life Hello Fellow East High Alums! I graduated June, 1961..went to Drake University, then transfered to the Natl. Univ. of Mexico in Mexico City to study art. While in Mexico I met my husband (who was from New York City). We moved back to New York, had two children (a son and a daughter) and then moved back to Iowa where we lived for over 25 years. My husband died after a long illness and after 28 years of marriage. I remarried a man from the Davenport area. It didn't work out and I divorced him after three years of marriage. I graduated from Univ. of Nebraska at Omaha in Art Education, went on to get my Masters at Drake Univ. in Curriculum and Instruction and finally got my Ph.D. from Iowa State in Educationa...Expand for more
l Administration in 1993. I got my first job as an elementary principal in the Muscatine Community School District. Now, I am in Taiwan where I am the Assistant Director of an American School (PreK-12). I plan to be here until June of 2006. I love being here and have had great opportunities to travel to the Eastern Asian countries...Thailand, Japan, mainland China, Vietnam, Cambodia, etc. My son is married with two children (twin boys) and my daughter is single but will be married soon. My son lives in Iowa and my daughter lives in Oregon. That's my life in a nutshell! Ups and downs like everyone, but enjoying all that life has to offer now! I look forward to hearing from old friends and acquaintances!
