Sharon's Story
After graduation from high school in 1976, I moved to the COLD state of Vermont, my good friend Terry Williams and I drove up, my parents and younger siblings were already there! Lived there and worked for the local newspaper as an Editorial Assistant for about 3 years, then my family decided to move out west to the sunny state of Arizona. That was in 1979, and I felt I needed a change so I moved with them.
That was almost 30 years ago, and I have been here ever since. I had numerous jobs, worked with Hughes Aircraft Company for 6 years, worked for a doctor for about 2 years, worked for the phone comany for another 2 1/2 years and finally settled down with a company that interfaces Hospital systems in the United States and overseas, and have just celebrated my 18th year with them as a Computer Analyst.
I got married in June of 1984 to a Police Officer, we had two children. My oldest, Paula, will be 23 this December, and my youngest, Corey, just turned 21. Unfortunately, we were only married for about 4 1/2 years, got divorced in 1989. I enjoyed the single life for about 3 years, and remarried again in 1992. We were married for about 13 years, and divorced in 2005. While both of my ex's and I remain friends, I have to say I'm enjoying NOT BEING MARRIED. Have dated, and lived with someone, but in my older years, I find I like having MY TIME and time for my family.

ends are the most important people in your life. My daughter was in a coma for about a week, she overcome the odds, and was given a second chance at life. I don't know what I would have done without her. It's been a long 2 years, but she's doing good, she is moving out on her own this weekend (don't know if I'm ready for that, but she is and I am happy for her!) She made me a grandma 5 years ago. I have a beautiful little grandson who is the love of my life. He's my little guy!! He started kindergarten this year, but with the shift I work, I get to pick him up and spend the afternoon after school with him!
My son, Corey, enlisted in the United States Army on his 18th Birthday!! He's my hero, my pride and joy. There is no other mother who is as proud of their son as I am! (okay...i'm sure that's not true, but how I feel!!) He was stationed in Korea for 18 months, but is now back in the states and stationed at Ft. Lee, Virginia. He loves it there, I knew he would! He will probably be going to IRAQ after the first of the year, I'm hoping with the election, things will turn around and he won't have to go (the selfish part of me doesn't want he over there). But if he does go....keep him in your prayers and thoughts!!
I am enjoying my life since turning 50 in February. It's true, the older you get, the more you enjoy life, and I am loving mine now!!
I hope to catch up with old friends, life is too short!! I miss everyone of you...and hope to get back to Virginia for a reunion to look up some of them!
