Sharron's Story
I moved to Tuscon about 6 weeks before 9th grade at Rincon started. So many students were kind and thoughtul. Thank you. I had moved every year or so with my military dad, and I really enjoyed Rincon and especially the science classes.
Coming to the 50th reunion is important and the only reunion that I have was able to attend.

Started at Uof A summer of 1963. Sue Richards intruduced me to Rick, Chem E, during Spring semester UofA 1964. Thank You Sue! I Graduated with BS in Textile Research May 1966 after 3 summers at UofA. Had lots of Botany and Genetics plus Textiles and Tayloring.. Married Rick May 1966. Son born next year. Lived in Texas, Minnesota, Kentucky, Phoenix, and then moved to Washington 1980. Lived in 4 rural areas of WA and now in Capitol.
So much to be thankful for today. Rough time with the disease of scleroderma/ stone skin and lupus for 24 years. Diagnosed as an 8th grader at Bethesda Naval Hosp near WA DC just before moving to Rincon area. After son was born, My skin was thick and had difficulty stretching, so I did not gain any weight for 24 years and I avoided pain. Walking, swimming, hiking and good nutrition critical all the time.
New WA neighbors introduced me to Jesus Christ my healer in 1982. I met lots of people who had miracles in their lives. Jesus walked me through a miracle over several years and healed my kidneys, colon, blood, immunie system, and that stone skin and lupus. November 1991 was the Victory month when I was totaly healed of the diseases. Thank you Jesus!
Medical research and my many visits to medical libraries revealed high concentration of scleroderma/stone skin in Guam after WWII. I live in Guam 1946-48, right after Pacific War was over. Dad was a radio man for Navy. DDT was the harmful chemical used from airplanes and trucks.to protect us from marilia. I also lived in Hawaii and Cuba on Navy bases. Cuba used lots, and lots of the DDT.
Jesus started walking me through the miracle of healing on the day that i forgave the military for using the harmful chemical DDT. ( In the 1940s DDT won Nobel Chem Awa...Expand for more
rd.) Forgiveness is important, and Jesus Christ hears all of our prayers.
After Jesus Christ completed the healing in my body, Rick entered pastor training after working 23 years as a Chemical Engineer. Rick was ordained a Christian Pastor. I could also work now for the first time. For 10 years we served in Christian youth programs in rural WA state. Port Angeles, Forks, and Whidbey Island. I am so thankful that all who call on the name of Jesus will be saved.
Rick and I then moved to Pahoa, Hawaii for 3 years and were state certified as teachers. Lots of amazing snorkeling near our school and in Hilo. We also had 40 all day teacher training classes plus 24 semester hours of teaching classes. Beautiful people, but to far from grandchildrfen. Our upper duplex rental, was across the street from the 1990 laval flow. We walked across the lava and enjoyed watching the waves and rough surf. Swimming was only safe in bays on the South side of the Big Island. Currents could take you to Ecuador! The water was 10,000 feet deep real soon. Neighbors had 30 ft high mango and avacodo trees. Our home was surrounded by huge cocunut trees and we looked into the upper branches from our porch.
Lived now 7 years in Olympia, WA. Taught 6th grade for 2 years in a Christian school and Rick taught Math and Science to 7th and 8th graders at same school. Retired and served as substitute teachers in Native American school for 4 years. Now really retired.
Rick worked one year for Logos Bible Program CO and helped ministers and missionaries around the world with the software. his Greek co-worker intvited us to see them in Greece in 2008. We spent 2 weeks on the Greek Islands and later covered our living room walls with photos.
When i attended Rincon, my family home was about 5 houses from the school on Arcadia.
Younger rothers live in Prescott and Flagstaff.. Dad is almost 94 and a Pearl Harbor survivor. Mom went to be with Jesus 16 years ago, and Dad married a gifted banjo player.. I try to see family every year or so.
