Sharron's Story

I moved to Spokane shortly after graduation where I worked for the AF at Fairchild AFB. Spent about a year out there and then returned to Dallas. I worked in Dallas for two years as a Private Investigator and then moved along with my two children to Michigan where my husband was stationed. While living in Michigan I joined the Air Force becoming one of the first female Security Policeman. I spent 22 years in the Air Force with assignments in South Carolina, Ohio, Germany, New Mexico and Louisiana. I retired from the Air Force as a First Sergeant with the grade of Senior Master Sergeant (only 2% of the enlisted grade are promoted to Senior). After retiring from the Air Force I taught high school for three years. Really wasn't my...Expand for more
cup of tea. I wondered as a first sergeant where they came from. Three years teaching showed me. After teaching I went to work for the Veterans Administration retiring from there in 2004. My first husband and I had two boys, Robert and Michael. Robert lives in Arkansas. Michael was killed in a auto accident in 1997. I'm completely retired now and living in Bossier City, Louisiana. I went through several husbands but have been married to the current one for 29 years. I'm active doing charity fund drives with the local Corvette Club and I spend a month every fall in Hawaii surfing. My husband is a hunter and doesn't care for the water so it works out well for both of us. He stays home and hunts and I spend a month on a surf board.

My Sweet Baby, Michael, would have been 47 today. Instead of grieving I choose to celebrate his life and how blessed we were to have him, however short the time. We love you Mike.
Twenty years ago today our wonderful son Mike went home to live with Jesus. Although the pain never goes away it has lessened as the memories take over. I can still see his beautiful smile and hear his laughter as he would

So many people drag their children into there messes. They think they're hurting the other parent and they are but who they're hurting the most is the child.
