Shawn's Story
I moved to Hawaii after my mother died, met a military pilot stationed there, and we got married. I spent the next nine years moving around the country. When we moved back here, I told him I wasn't going to move again. It felt like I was home. We separated 10 years ago but have a good relationship. I will always consider him a member of my family. I do not consider our marriage a failure. I've grown immeasurably through the whole situation and we scored and ended up with a glorious 23 yr. old daughter. She is a joy.

ent back to college while I worked full-time. I graduated with an AA in Criminal Justice and transferred to Cal State. I am in my senior year but I think I've decided to change my major so I probably will have a couple years left.
I have been in recovery for ten years and after much thought and introspection, I have decided I am going to work in that field. I feel like I could help people because of everything I have been through in my life.
