Shawn's Story
Life
I went to Oakland University for a year and then joined the Navy for 8 years. While I was in, I was stationed in Iceland, Spain and Pensacola. During that timeframe I got married and had two children, Ethan and Hannah. I got out of the Navy in 1998 and was a Global Email Administrator for a worldwide advertising firm in Troy, Michigan until October 2005, when I got laid off from my job. 005 until December 2006. I came back and took a job in the DC area as a senior systems engineer. I went to Afghanistan in September 2009 and became the Country Manager for my company and Technical Manager for the contract. Upon my return in October 2010, I became the Deputy Project Manager for my project. Both my husband and I train in Aikido and we have our 1st degree black belts. We also self-published a children's book called, "Mirabelle, the extra-ordinary cow".
