Shawna's Story
Life
I can't believe it has been 20 years since highschool. I wonder what everyone has been up to?
Life is keeping me pretty busy. Mostly the daily routine stuff and having fun with my four kids at home. You have to enjoy them while they are young. They grow up so fast.
After highschool I took some time off.
Then I wanted to expore my career options so I started in nursing, but realized that It was not a good fit for me. Then I tried the savy business world but thought it was too cut throat and did not want any part of climbing the coporate ladder. So then I just got my transfer AA (at YVCC) plus a whole lot of other credits I would never use.
School then became fun for me as I was in control and I continued my education at CWU and received my BA in law and justice (pre-law/paralegal). I really wanted to go to law school but family obligations prevented the move. So I took some more time off.
After four years of being out of school I missed it so much I had to go back. I then received my MSW at EWU and think I have finally found my niche in life. I am now a social worker. Although when I have to go to court to testify in cases I sometimes wish that I did get my law degree. Who knows I am still young (at heart th...Expand for more
at is) maybe I will go back to school again.
School
My biggest crush in School was a guy by the name of P.R.P. That should keep you guessing......
The Teacher that most inspired me was Ms. Hunter from Lewis and Clark. Even if you gave me the only referral in my life for fogetting my text book. ;)
College
Not another term paper.... Is it really 3am and I have 10 pages to go on my 15 page paper???.
Yes I did my best work last minute. Why change it when it works. I work well under pressure and deadlines. Just ask my current boss. LOL.
I am so going to miss my college days. Maybe I will keep going.
Workplace
My first job lasted a whole day, before the manager found out that I was underage. Okay who told him?? Thank you, the job was terrible anyhow.
what I have learned from my current job is that be ready to move and prepare for lots of last minute changes. I have became an expert on moving quickly from desk to desk. My fish (Blueberry) doesn't like it, but he still loves me. :)
Military
I did the weekend boot camp. What I can say is run fast and far far away. LOL. Well maybe not to far. The boys in uniform are a little cute. :)
for my recruiter... My contract is null and void right??? I am free right???
