Sheila's Story
After attending Hyles-Anderson for 2 years, I married Mick Newman in 1982. Yes, that Mick Newman! He is a wonderful husband and we have had a great life together. We have six children. Alisa is 22 and just graduated from Indiana University Northwest with a degree in Radiological Sciences. She is an MRI technologist at Southlake Methodist Hospital in Merrillville. Joel is 21 and will be getting married on April 25. He and his wife plan to move to Pennsylvania where he will attend air traffic control school. They plan to return after he graduates. our church. They have been on many missions trips and they all still work with the youth of our church. We are very proud of them!
There is a seven year spread between our first "set" of children and our second "set". Stacy is 12, Parker is 11 and Sawyer is 9. They all attend Portage Christian School. They are great kids and they help keep us young, I hope!
Our family attends Lake Hills Baptist in Schererville. Mick is a deacon and we both sing in the church. We love our church. Mick works as an estimater at a restoration company in Dyer. I worked for a while but have basically been a stay at home mom. God as been very good to us.
