Sheila's Story
Believe it or not, my son is 33 and my daughter is 31. Crazy, right? Eric just came back from working and living in Kona, Hawaii. He's in restaurant management which is a crazy life but he loves it. If you live in the Dallas area, he'll be managing a new restaurant on lower Greenville, National Sports Lounge when it opens summer of 2008. He's an Eagle Scout and a former Marine and quite a guy.
Cory lives in Ft Worth finishing up a masters program in Medical Anthropology. Right now, she is in Kenya doing her master's project. She ran away from Texas to go to school in New York, came home for a few years and then served in the Peace Corps for 3 years in Jamaica. Harsh, right? Both of them have a knack for having fun which I'm really happy about. Now if I could just convince them that having more grandbabies is the most fun!
Eric's former wife and my granddaughter, Trinity, stayed with me for a time. (Yes.....that's granddaughter!) Traci is Trinity's Mom and she's a trainer and runner as well. She had been living in Memphis but loves all the running opportunities in the Dallas area. Eric may never remarry and Cory's headed off to save people in th...Expand for more
ird world countries so I may have to cool my jets about more grandchildren.
I did 20 years or so hard time in banking-finance credit stuff, got happily divorced along the way and decided to become a teacher at the beginning of my mid-life crisis when Cory graduated from college. : ) I have no regrets. It's just one of the hardest things I've ever done. I had no idea teachers worked as hard as they do! I teach 3rd grade bilingual and also teach credit ESOL classes at a community college. I really should be doing more working out, etc. But, true to my parents' crazy puritan work ethic, I mostly work.
I actually play for a Presbyterian church in Carrollton. I've been there since the early 90's when Gary Powell asked me to substitute for him. For grins, I also do security at concerts and sporting events. I did it pretty regularly for eight years or so but not so much anymore.
I'm happily involved with a gorgeous man a little younger than me and waaaay more buff! : ) Never thought I'd ever give my heart out again but he was very persuasive.
Well, that's the scoop with me! I need to thank Buzz Murry for inspiring me to get this done! You're awesome!
