Sheila's Story
I found my spiritual home at Berkeley, got a degree in journalism and worked over 30 years in newspapers. I had a great job at the end, as restaurant critic of the San Jose Mercury News, but luckily could bail out 2 1/2 years ago before the business tanked.
Meanwhile I met Ned, an administrator in public libraries, and we've had a pretty sweet life in Palo Alto. Our son, Jake, 26, lives in SF...Expand for more
and is looking for a job in architecture. Our daughter, Lisa, 23, lives with us, temporarily we all hope, while putting her life back together and finishing one more quarter of college. Lisa and I are writing a book about her struggle with eating disorders, being the child of a food writer in a food-crazy culture. Everyone buy the book! (tentative title: You Must Be Hungry, pub date Aug 2009)
