Shela's Story
Life (Autumn 2008)
Well...that was a quick summer! Why is it? Now that I am officially half a century old, that the summer months just fly by. I remember when the last day of Elementary / Jr High and High School, signified the long, warm days of an endless summer. No more! Now it's like...well, we have about 12 weekends to squeeze in all the fun, yardwork, home improvements and travel that we possibly can. Speaking of travel, the trip that I mentioned in my last post of visiting England, Ireland and Spain, slated for last month (September) was not realized. Given the rotten dollar exchange and just the sluggish economy in general, we decided now is not the time. We were sucessful in getting the exterior of our home and rental home painted and my dear husband is nearly finished with the downstairs bathroom remodel (finally) it has only been 3 years in the making!!! es, I said 3 years!!! When you live in a two story house, that's alot of trips up and down the stairs!! LOL!! I mentioned also that I am now a proud Grandma. Grandson Cole will be a year this January! Always keeping things interesting....I purchased a beautiful appaloosa colt in September through a live auction at the Denise Louie Education Center fundraiser. He was rescued and offered by Hard Luck Horses. I will post pictures for all of you horse lovers! At this posting, he is 17 months old and by the time my little grandson is able to get in the saddle, "Ace" (His common name) should be trained and ready for the trail! Ace was born Apaches Hot Shot and is the grandson of the stallion Pratts Firestorm. I am looking forward to the coming holidays and spending time with my family. Best wishes to all of you!
