Shelley's Story

Life Hello! This is a pretty small space for almost 10 years of life! Most of you probably know I graduated LA TECH after busy years that included joining Alpha Chi Omega, being selected for the Student Advancement Team, joining the Panhellenic Council, being honored as one of Who's Who Among American Colleges and Universites, and my being crowned Miss Tech. Afterward, I entered the PharmD program at ULM and was also crowned Miss ULM(the first ever to have that combo!) I retired my pageant dresses when my husband popped the question and we were married at FBC in 2002! His name is Jeff Parker and he is from Ruston and we met at LA Tech. We just recently moved to Shreveport as Jeff made a move from being a banker at Chase Manhattan in Monroe to becoming Vice-President of Commercial Lending operations for Iberia Bank's new operations here in Shreveport. m now a pharmacist and work a little over part-time at Wal-Mart....I am compiling a book of experiences-you can say you knew me when! We are active at the First United Methodist Church and I am in the middle of my provisional year as a member of the Junior League of Shreveport-Bossier. We are members Southern Trace and the University Club and love to go out to The Strand or catch a local symphony production. We do not have any children (YET!) but are definitely planning on a family soon. We do have one kitten, Max, and he is our pride and the source of much joy! In any spare time we enjoy running-we completed the Chicago Marathon together in 2004 and also completed the P F Chang's Rock and Roll 1/2 marathon in Jan. 2006. Jeff finished sub 2 hour (pretty good) but I finished at 2:05 for 13.1 miles. I was proud, but disappointed in myself for not hitting that elusive under 2 hour mark! I also LOVE to cook and entertain friends. I would be happy to help with anything for a reunion-just look me up!
