Shelley's Story

Life Gosh, where do I begin. Moved to Florida in 1980, just after I turned 21. Didn't think I'd stay, but met my husband of 26+ years and decided to. Took awhile, but I finally got it right and have one child, Bryan, who is now 16 and, like me when I was 16, knows everything. The apple of my eye, though and alot like me. Have a great step-daughter, Ginger, who I cherish and 2 teenage step-grandchildren, Ryan and Amber. Lots of ups and downs over the years, lost both my parents, dad at the young age of 56 and sadly he never got even knew about Bryan, and my mom just last year. I married a great guy, his name is Ken and he is very southern. So much so that I have acquired a southern drawl as well as slang. Yep, I say "fixin' to" when I'm ready to do something, and "help" has become a two syllable word. Ken is very shy and doesn't like crowds, so I do alot of running around with either Bryan or Ginger. Ginger is my party buddy. We hit Universal Studios' Mardis Gras annually and usually get a pretty good concert with it. Last year we saw Steve Miller Band and year before, it was Heart. My sister Gail goes with us and we just have a great time, thrill riding and drinking "Voo-Doo's" in strobe bottom glasses. Flashback, anyone? Yeah, I thought so! :) Anyway, back to me, I was a Medical Assistant for most of my adult life and at the ripe old age of 40, decided to go back to school for my nursing degree. I am an LPN (lowest paid nurse) and currently work for an extremely busy cardiology group. Just ask me a...Expand for more
nything about the heart and I can pretty much fill you in. However, I just had an interview yesterday to change my specialty and go into pediatrics. Don't ask me why, but I have this yearning to work with kids again, so wish me luck. Ken and I bought a small house many (God, can it be many?) years ago, which we still live in. We have a fairly large yard and a built in swimming pool. Sounds elaborate, but right now the pool is empty and we're waiting for spring to do repairs and refill. We have about a dozen or so citrus trees as well, so grabbing a fresh grapefruit in the morning is just the norm for us. I visit Baltimore pretty regularly, and miss it horribly! Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever come back for good, then I remember what I have here. I did miss our last reunion (30 years) if we even had one. Never got any mail and since my address hasn't changed in a million years, I would have expected to. Although, I never was very popular in school. The fat girl that happened to be friends with a couple of popular girls (April and Colleen). Was finally thin after high school and stayed so-so until a few years ago. Now I guess I'm the fat girl again, but at least this time, I don't care what people think, and I don't judge either. Only one judge, and we're all gonna face him someday. Not ashamed of anything I've done and I have very few regrets. OK, so there you have it, the boring life, in a nutshell, of me...Shelley Creamer...formerly Shelley Leasure. Do any of you even remember me? Didn't think so...
