Shelley's Story
Since high school I received my B.S. in Business Management and had one daughter Kristin, who turned 33 in June. She has blessed me with 3 grandchildren, Jayden 9, Jordan 7 and Gabrielle 5. I got to watch each one of them come into this world and it was an experience like no other.
I left NY 13 years ago, divorced and determined to start a new life in Virginia. I work for Allstate Insurance as an Injury Adjuster who settles claims with attorneys through mediation and suit. I enjoy my job and it challenges me every day. My daughter moved down here to be with me a few months before my first granddaughter was born and has lived here ever since. She also works at Allstate and is an Adjuster in the same office, so I get to see her every day, which is great, plus she only lives about 10 minutes away from me.
Currently I live in the country outside of Roanoke on 5 acres with my dogs. I lived the first 9 years in the city, but this is a much better fit for me.You can take the girl from the country but not the country from the girl. I think I heard that somewhere, and it applies in my case.

takes and have moved on and left the past behind me. When I turned 50 and moved into the country, I n I saw my year books that I had packed away. I took them out and read how my friends had signed and it made me want to get in contact with high school friends again and find out what they have done with their lives. So here I am on Class mates searching for old friends.......
My favorite way to relax is to come home, build a fire in my fireplace and have a class of wine and some soft rock music playing in the background.......
The wildest things I ever did in high school were with my best friend Debbie who today is still my best friend even though we live 10 hours apart. She was the only person I ever went streaking with and the only person that I ran away with at 14 and hopped a grey hound to Syracuse......
My hero was my Father. After I lost my Mother in Jan 02 he had to have open heart surgery in Feb 02 and he pulled through and lived the next 3 1/2 years with me in VA. I never met anyone who clung to life more than he did. He became my friend not just my Father until he passed away in Aug 05. I still have memories of him singing to me every night before he went to sleep. I still miss him and my Mother very much.
