I attended Ocean Township Hight School as Shelley Stern. Not to long after graduation I moved to Brooklyn totally enthralled with city life. I married a man from Peru and actually lived in Peru on and off for 10 years. Always able to adapt I had a horse instead of a car and washed my clothes on the rocks with the Indians. I was in Caraz, in the mountains, 18,000 feet above sea level! I eventually had 3 children all of whom are grown. Knowing my "detention" history I have to laugh that my youngest son ended up the dean of discipline and eventually the vice principal in the school he is currently working for! I tried my hand at many things and ended up in the home care arena in 1990 where I eventually became the Vice President of Operations and then the Vice President of Business Development for the second largest home care company in New York. No more "hippie" attire, we are talking about suits with matching heels and handbags....picture that.....responsible for margins and spreadsheets...I barely passed math!
