Shelley's Story
The biggest surprise is that most people do not recognize me at first because I lost about 60 pounds after college. Other surprises may be that I have been married for 17 years, have taught elementary school for 16 years, and have 2 children.
I moved to Gaston County once I married and have been here ever since. I teach at the same elementary school that my husband, his parents, and even his grandparents attended. The wildest things I ever did in high school were done either before or after school and were done with a few individuals that will remain nameless. These people will remember the visits to the RCJ to visit a friend, someone showing off for a bus, Marco Island, reflectors in driveways, men at work flashing signs that were not meant for bedrooms, calling in pizza delivery to certain houses, getting stopped by a policeman while your parents watched, and car keys that were never found---ever.
