Shelly's Story
Moved to Maui in 1974 after they tore down the last orange grove, in the city of Orange, where I ended up. Entire family eventually moved here and we bought an acre of land in Kula. Turned scrubland into a park with 5 Avacado, 2 Mango, 2 Orange and too many Apple banana trees to count. Parents passed away. Niece now living here with her family to take care of my 72 yr old sister w/Alzheimer’s. Retired early too take care of my family. Now have to move because too many telecommuters, billionaires and millionaires have raised the prices of everything. Local people are mad. They can’t afford to live where t...Expand for more
hey were born and grew up. Most are working 3 jobs to make ends meet. They are becoming homeless and meth and all other drugs are driving them to crime. It’s now dangerous to visit or move here. Don’t come to Maui. You may be robbed by gunpoint. Your rental car broken into. Mugged or raped in a shopping center. If u do decide to visit, don’t walk late at night anywhere. Don’t leave anything of value in your rental car, ever. They troll Costco, Walmart, every day because that’s where people are going directly from airport, leaving their baggage in cars. Never been to Tennessee & moving there 8/25/22. Aloha
