Shelly's Story
Life
I took in a young boy of 16 who calls me Mom and his children call me Grandma...so I have been blessed with a very loving family that has chosen me. Over the years I have been Mother to 14 children (most without having State involvement). I now foster abused and sick animals back to health and adoption. The extremely severe cases we keep with us. My husband of 24 yrs. teaches and works with homeless children. We have travelled extensivley through the Mid-East, Europe,the USA and now cruise. I moved to BHC AZ in 1970 when it wasn't on the map and had an extensive career in the casinos in Laughlin NV. My life journey has taken me to a spiritual awareness that affects my every waking hour. verlooking one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in the USA. While there were some very hard times in my life all were a lesson to achieve more from within. My husbnd has nurtured my artistic side and I have been amazed at my acomplishments. I'm at a great time in life and have attained the goal of being able to sit on the front porch with a wicked grin on my face while people wonder "what did that old lady do to make her smile like that?"
School
High school was a bummer due to my home life. I learned a great deal from my business teachers and had a hugh crush on my drafting teacher. It took me until I was 45 years old but I finally got that architectual drafting degree in hand and built a house I designed.
