Shelly's Story

Since 1978, I graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in 1982, moved to Boulder, CO to go to law school at the University of Colorado (graduated in 1985), married my husband Dave in 1985 and had twins Alex and Chelsea in 1990. I've been practicing law for 23 years now, specializing in promotion and marketing law (sweepstake, contests, fun stuff like that, primarily in the alcohol beverage industry). Weird specialty, I know. I've been in the Boulder office of Cohen Silverman Rowan LLP since 1996, and our other office is in Manhatten, NYC. e starting at Whitworth University in the fall. Our son is staying out a year to intern with the youth pastor at church. He's also very musical. We all like to water ski and do other water sports, and my daughter shows horses. My most recent horse was an Arabian gelding I did dressage with for many years. He won a national championship in 2004 (with my trainer riding, not me, darn it!), and I sold him last year with no plans to buy another one. I'm "horseless" for the first time in 45 years! It frees Dave and I up for traveling, if only we weren't spending all our money on college for the next 5 years.
