Sheri's Story
Sheri Herbert was born in Dallas, Texas. She began her interest in art when she moved to Amarillo in 1968 and studied oil under internationally known artist Ben Konis and art classes from various panhandle artists. In 1972, the opportunity came along for Sheri to create The Taos Summer Art Workshops where she served as director until 1978.
Interested in painting from photographs, Sheri enrolled in a photography class at Amarillo College which lead to her earning an associate degree in photography and teaching several classes for the college continuing education department. Working as a freelance photographer, in 1980 Sheri partnered with a New York photographer & she produced a photographic book ¿Last Of A Breed¿, a three year project depicting the life of the real working cowboy.

d in 1994 she began working as a faux finisher and muralist putting her artistry on residential walls. Sheri was chosen Showcase Artist by The Professional Builders Magazine for the '98 NHBA convention. She has participated in numerous ASID Designer Showcase Homes. Over the years Sheri has contracted to faux finish model homes for various builders as well as custom homes for individual clients.
In April of 2006 Sheri opened her studio, Artistic Endeavors in Richmond, TX and now teaches acrylic painting and faux finishing. Sheri continues to work as a faux finisher and she contracts as a color consultant to designers and builders who use her expertise
to help them with paint color choices.
Sheri is married to internationally known shooting coach, Jay Herbert. Her son, Alec Lokey, works as a freelance photographer in Phoenix, Arizona.
