Sherisse's Story
Right after highschool I sang in a band and traveled around the country singing in bars and hotel lounges for about six months. Then my sister married the drummer (see Peggy Sorenson's bio) and the band broke up leaving me no alternative but to go to college. I moved to Provo Utah because I'd heard it was inexpensive and fun to live there. (I'm also not a very big fan of the desert and heat.) I waitressed for awhile and realized that I had no social life, so I started taking classes at UVSC so I could meet people my own age. After having four children and moving to a very remote part of Utah out in the middle of nowhere, my priorities changed a little and I decided to go back to school and get my teaching degree. I've been teaching for 4 years and I love it. Apparently, I couldn't seem to get enough schooling, so I'm now working on my master's degree in Reading and will be finished in February of 2009. I still sing here and there and find that it is much more enjoyable as a hobby rather than a career. I basically live a very low key life in a quaint small town - Just the way I like it.
