Sherri's Story
Ok, ok, I am so jealous that everyone had so much fun at the reunion without me. My one and only weekend that I didn't have to travel and I decided to stay home instead of making the 12 hour flight to Bradenton. Trust me, I am so kicking myself for not going. Thanks everybody for sending pics...Ann Marie, Dee Dee and Cindy. It was so exciting seeing how everyone looks now. I promise to make the next one!!!
As for my pics...I know I don't show me in any of them...probably because I'm the one that always takes all the pics...go figure.
Life
I wish that all my high school friends knew how much I have thought about them over the years. I got married right out of high school and moved to Germany with my then husband Jan (Tonkin - Palmetto High) and my first child Michael (Tony), who is now 19 (almost 20). After living in Germany for two years I came home and had my second child Nickilos, who is 17. Both of the boys being well over the 6' mark now. (I have giants for children Mike being 6' 3" and Nick 6'6" and still growing - boy do I feel old...and short). We lived in New York for 2 years and then on down in Virginia. I eventually divorced and moved back home to Florida. I didn't stay long, only a couple years then it was up to South Carolina and then on to Alaska where I have finally settled down for the past 10 years. Yes, it's a long way from home...but I love it here and truly never want to leave. I never thought this big city girl could ever live in a small town. Especially when you have nature living in your own front yard. Those that have made it to Alaska to visit can't seem to get over the change they see in me. Me...the person who hated to get her hands dirty now goes hunting twice a year and fishing every chance I get. (We go hunting for bear (grizzly/black) and moose - forget those little bitty things like the deer in Florida).

ve Corporation, but have recently just changed jobs. I finally got tired of traveling to remote villages and putting up with petty issues. I have also remarried to a wonderful man name Wayne. Of all things, we eloped and had a Vegas wedding...yeah baby! We're coming up on our 5th anniversary. Wayne is the Transportation/Logistics and Fleet Lead for Alyeska Pipeline. I truly believe that I have found my soulmate. We have so much in common and we really have a lot of fun together. I have also learn to enjoy new things in life...like getting my motorcycle license. For our 3rd Anniversary, Wayne bought me my first motorcycle. "I'm a biker girl"!!!! For our 4th anniversary he bought me a bigger bike. Ok, I'll admit, I'm spoiled rotten. We travel when we can, mostly to Anchorage, Dallas, El Paso, Vegas and Seattle to visit his 3 grown children and his 6 grandchildren. Although I am only 39...I am considered grandma, they call me Sheshe. But for the most part we like to stay close to home and go RVing to our property we have in little Tok, Alaska near the Canadian border and ride our bikes every chance we get before winter hits. We only have about a 4 months summer...there's no such thing as Spring or Fall...just Winter and Summer.
Other than that, life has been good. Mom and dad live right down the road in North Pole, AK (yes, there is such a place) and are doing well. My sister Tammy and her husband Steve live just up the road and are getting ready to relocate to Barrow, which is at the very top of the state (no roads...must fly in to reach it - I wish them luck living the village life). But none the less it's nice having my whole family right here close by.
Well, I try to stay in touch with some of my high school friends...but like most you stay in touch when you can. I would love to hear from any of you and would like to hear more from those I already hear from!
