Sherri's Story
Life
I married Scott Tarran, class of 83 in 1986 and we moved to San Diego, Ca where he was stationed on the USS Kinkaid, a Naval Destroyer. While in San Diego we had two daughters, Jamie (who is now 21 yrs old) and Katie (who will be 20 in November). In 1990 we moved up north to the bay area and had another daughter, Samantha (who just turned 17). We lived there for 9 years (Scott worked at General Electric and I did family child care out of our home). In Nov. 1998 we moved to Oregon, Wi (20 minutes from Madison) - Scott is working for an analytical x-ray company (Bruker-AXS)and I work for the Oregon School District as the admin asst. to the Director of Operations. Our oldest is a senior this year at Eau Claire University Wisconsin - double majoring and going on to grad school (she is a smart one - don't know where she got that from!), our middle one completed her freshman ye...Expand for more
ar at Whitewater and then moved to Virginia to be with her boyfriend of 4 yrs who is a Navy Seal and our youngest is going to be a senior in highschool.
Workplace
When my kids were young I did childcare out of my home for seven years - now I am the Admin Asst to the Director of Operations for the Oregon School District in Wisconsin. I monitor building security, take care of the capital maintenance budget, enter payroll for the custodial and maintenance staff, draw CAD maps of all of the schools, and a lot of other secretarial stuff it's a good job for me because it is many different things so I never get bored which is easy for me since I have ADD!!!
Military
When I married Scott in 1986 he was a 3rd Class petty officer on the USS Kinkaid stationed in San Diego. When he got out of the Navy in 1990 (for a civilian job in the bay area of Ca.) he left as a 1st class Petty Officer.
