Sherri's Story

Life I got married in 1997:) His son moved in with us when he was 9 (he's 22 now). We have one cat (aged 10), and three Boxers, two age 5 and one age 2. He works for a defense contractor, I work for a hospital, and we volunteer for a local Boxer rescue. In a nutshell, that's it. And I can't believe I'm 43 years old. School People like me are always remembered...in one way or another;) Friends Patti (Anderson) Tibnam's the friend I've known the longest, technically, since we met in elementary school. We became friends after high school. My friend Bonnie is the person I have been friends longest with; met her when I was 17 and we still talk on a weekly basis. We clicked due to our identical taste in music. Now we "rock" vicariously through her 13-year-old little headbanger son LOL! What about you would surprise everyone at your high school reunion? Probably the fact that I'm not what they always thought I was. Haha, I will leave that up to personal interpretation LOL! MY FIRST JOB... ...was at a factory in Whitman that I've forgotten the name of, where I got paid very little to make Xmas ornaments in July. What I remember most about it is that the glue smelled DAMN GOOD! IF I'M GOING TO WORK SOMEWHERE... ...I need to have my MP3 player, A/C, and coworkers with functioning brains to be able to deal with the day-to-day. My best friend would tell you I'm... ...loyal, shy, self-conscious and insecure, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as a snob. Once they get to know me and I come out of my shell, I tend to make friends for life. The insecurity is a leftover gift from my childhood:\ You get one do-over. What do you do differently? I'd have stood up for myself rather than just take most of the crap I took from people when I was a kid, both the crap that was dealt to me by my peers and the crap that was dealt to me by my mother...but between the two, it was just too much for a kid to deal with. In 10 years, I hope to be... ...rich, retired and living in a log cabin on a mountain in NH. I'm going to get there by playing the damn lottery! My motto has become... ...if you don't have something nice to say to someone, then walk away and find someone to whom you DO have something nice to say. Life is too short to spend it being mean to people. There are over 6 billion people on the planet...don't waste it on being an ass to someone just because you don't like the way they look or behave. It only makes YOU look like an ass. Took ...Expand for more
me a very long time to learn that. (And no...I've never wasted time being mean to people...that's why it took me so long to learn this...I was always on the receiving end;) How do you blow off steam? Throw something hard onto a CD or my MP3 player (Slipknot, old-school Slayer, Pantera...), crank it, and (try to) forget the world exists. Sports. Reality TV. Pets. Share your obssessions. My obssessions are music, books, and gaming. I'm a World of Warcrack addict (among other games), never go anywhere without my Amazon Kindle, and the stereo in my car is permanently stuck on Octane (Sirius satellite). Where have you lived? Why did you move? I lived in Bridgewater for a short time with my grandmother after my grandfather died, then moved to Fall River in 1992. I moved because I hated EB...there was nothing for me there. I'm in Somerset, MA now and LOVE IT! The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is... ...my dad because not a day has gone by in the last 18 years that I have not thought about him. What happened to your first crush? Honestly? The last I had heard about him, he was living on the streets and in a homeless shelter in Brockton:( My heart breaks for you, Danny:( Talk about your oldest friend — how you met and why you clicked. My longest friend is Bonnie. I met her when I was 17 and working at my first long-term job. We worked at two other places together before life sent us in different directions - I became a paralegal, she became a stay-at-home mom. Music was what brought us together initially - we were a couple of girls who were into music for the music, not for the guys playing it. We became fast concert buddies, went to concerts nearly every weekend back in the late 80's. Memories...:) We still both love it hard and loud! Share a childhood memory you'll never forget. Sitting on the shore of a lake in New Hampshire, my dad beside me, both with fishing lines in the water, patiently waiting for the little wiggle of the bobber signaling that we had a bite. Yes, I baited my own hooks, and took the fish off my own line. We could sit there for hours just watching those bobbers, maybe sharing a can of root beer, reading a book or a magazine, without a worry in the world. That was paradise. I miss you so much, Dad:( What's the wildest thing you ever did in school? LOL...smoked in the "off-limits" stairwell during lunch (never got caught!). Beat sitting alone in the cafeteria and having food thrown in my hair LOL!
