Sherrie's Story
Ok, here it goes:
Rick (my husband) and I have been married for 40 years now and have two beautiful daughters. Our youngest (Tina) living in Venice, CA (near LA) and our eldest (Kim) living here in Roswell. Tina works as a business manager for a snowboard manufacturing co, Kim is on her 3rd year of college, working to become a pre-school, Kindergarden teacher. No grandchildren! I am about ready to adopt some! NEED GRANDCHILDREN!
Rick and I have lived in West Yellowstone, MT; Renton, WA; and now Roswell NM.
I spent the better part of 20 years as a dental assistant and then as the business manager of a dental office. My last 13 years of working were spent as the business manager of a company that provides support services for adults with Developmental Disabilities. Our consumers, rapidly became my very favorite people and many are my friends to this day.
Now we are retired, living in Roswell, NM and loving it. We have started our own shop on Etsy (a place to sell all things handmade) selling the wood things Rick makes and I am sewing what ever I want and selling it, mostly for children. I also sell my fabric.....the closest I could ge...Expand for more
t to having my own fabric store. I have always wanted my own fabric store and I may actually get it in retirement. We also sell at arts and craft fairs. I don't deal to well with not working, have to keep busy!
I finally went back to school and got my bachelors degree in business management, I was a young 50 at the time. Better late than never huh?
I always wanted to be a wife and mother when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a bad idea. As it turns out, they were wrong.
To blow off steam and relax I meditate.
My inspiration comes from the face of every child I see.
My girls have taught me how to love unconditionally.
My best friend would tell you I'm crazy, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as ..... well, crazy.
I share my home with my husband and 85 yr old mother, which I find wonderful and challenging.
Linda McClure and I got caught reading a note that was being passed around in class (it was kind of racey for that time anyway) and were sent to the counselors office. Linda doesn't remember this....LOL I think everyone in the class read it, but Linda and I were the ones to get caught!
