Sherry's Story

Life Hi, I have lived in Riverside, CA since 1983 with my husband Randy and our two kids, son Matthew and daughter Danielle. Both of my kids have kids of their own. I have 5 wonderful grandchildren, 3 girls, 2 boys. They along with my kids are the light of my life. I am working as a Special Education Instructional Aide for the Riverside Unified School District and have been since 1997.. My husband is retired from Hobart Corp. We have a 2 dogs and 1 cat.. My husband and I just celebrated 40 years of marriage in August,. It is hard to believe that it has been that long. School I enjoyed high school. I was not a popular person, but I had many friends. I hung around Linda Botkin and Linda Butters, we were known as the three muskateers. My favorite teacher was Rick Lindgren. I think my best years were junior and senior year. I was on the yearbook staff and in the Co-Ed League my senior year. ...Expand for more
It was great fun, especially kidnapping the nominees for Co-Ed king and taking them to breakfast. College I never made it through college. I met Randy and got married instead. I did go to Golden West for 1 semester. Now I am going to college. I am working toward my AA. It is very challenging and time consuming, but it will all be worth it in the end. I am taking courses at Riverside Community College. Workplace I spent the first 16 years after high school working in insurance. I worked at Metropolitan for 6 years and then at Firemans Fund for 10 years. When Firemans Fund consolidated and moved to Orange County, I became a stay at home mom until my daughter started first grade. Then I worked in the food service division of Riverside Unified School District for a year and a half and then got my job as an instructional aide. I love what I do now. The kids are very special and a joy to work with.
