Sherry's Story
Phase 1: Life after high school was quite interesting and fun. I traveled to Europe, moved quite often in the early years, always into upgrading my surroundings, and indulged my love of horses and animals. I wanted to travel more but never got off the eastern seaboard til much later. Married and moved to Maine, which is still advertised as "Maine, the way life should be." Not bad, but there are other states!
Phase 2: I lived in Bowdoinham, Maine for 28 years, restored a beautiful 200 year old house and 17 acre farm, raised vegetables, chickens, sheep, and two great kids. Lived a charmed life in some ways, riding my horse through the woods and fields, driving my old Volvo wagon, very involved in the community and my children's education. erprises with my husband, got into accounting and office administration. Divorced happily after 23 years of marriage.
Phase 3: My life now is more simplified than before. I now live a good part of the year outside Belfast, Maine, in a charming log cabin in the woods, off the grid, very private, peaceful and serene. It is so wondrous to wake up there in the morning, hear the birds, have tea on the deck. Now driving a Subaru Forester. I work at a state park summers alongside my husband and we spend winters on a mesa (8000') in eastern Arizona, bordered by the Apache National Forest. Golden eagles, elk, hawks, mountain lions and the recently introduced Mexican wolves live nearby. I chose the road less traveled and that suits me. Life is sweet!
