Sherry's Story
I moved to Groton, CT 37 years ago when my first husband got a job at Electric Boat in Groton. We had 3 more children, our first son is mildly autistic and still lives with me and my 2nd husband, Dana. I have worked at a variety of jobs in the disability field, education, retail, and music, my main passion. My first husband passed away from pneumonia complications 7 yrs. ago. I met my current husband, Dana, 2 yrs. ago and we were married Aug. 30th, 2014. en yet. I retired after 10 years as a special education tutor for Groton Public Schools last June. I am still involved in my music activities. I'm the asst. music director at our local Catholic Church plus the pianist at a local Baptist church every Sunday. A year ago I became a member of the Elks in Groton, and am their organist. I also still volunteer at my former middle school. Going to concerts is my favorite activity, along with watching movies and reading. Dana bought a double tandem kayak and we are looking forward to using it soon along the Mystic River.
