Sherry's Story
Life
I graduated from Benson High School in 1967. I married Steve Jones (Benson '67) in 1968. We went to the University of Nebraska and then moved to the Minneapolis, MN area. In 1974, we moved to Livermore, CA (approx. 40 east of San Francisco). And in 1984, we moved to Pleasanton, CA, and have lived in the same house since then.
Steve & I have 8 children, 6 boys and 2 girls. Lisa, a middle school teacher, is married to Pete and has 3 children: Anna (20), Andrew (17) and Audrey (15). David, a computer software developer, is married to Christina and has 3 children: Laney (16), Jacob (11) & Lulu (7). Matt, a computer network specialist, is married to Megan and has 2 girls: Bryce (19) and Kayla (16). Aaron graduated from UC Berkeley and is a computer solutions specialist for the same Silicon Valley computer company as Steve, ThreatMetrix, specializing in internet based fraud prevention. Paul, a computer network specialist, is married to LeeAnne and has 2 girls: Denali (3) and Paisley (10 mos). Christopher, who lives in Burbank, is one of the owners of a film production company, Believe Entertainment. s). Ryan, a division leader in a window covering company, is married to Ashlee and has 3 kids: Grace (6), Sammy (3) and Abby (21 mos). All but one of our kids live within 30 miles from us and we are fortunate to see them all very frequently!
I was a "stay at home mom" for many years and then went to work as the Registrar at my kids high school (Valley Christian High School - Dublin, CA). I finally retired (for the third time!) in September 2004. I spent a lot of my life shuttling kids to activities, but mainly to soccer practices & games and to gymnastics and Sports Acrobatics. I was even a Sports Acro judge for a few years.
Steve & I have done quite a bit of traveling, domestic & international, mostly revolving around his work or our kids' sports. Just last month (April 2017), we took a trip, "just because!" to New England and
Montreal, Quebec. And last year, we finally became "empty nesters" after over 47 years of marriage - with our kids, relatives & friends, staying several days, months and even years with us! They were all welcome and truly a blessing to us!
The last 50 years has gone by so quickly! I am so grateful for our many blessings and I look forward to reconnecting with fellow BHS '67 graduates in October!
