My story...I got my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and taught first grade for a little bit. Then I married my college sweetheart, and we just had our 42th anniversary...really :). We have 7 living children, 5 girls, 2 boys. We have fifteen grandbabies so far.:)) We also had a baby boy that died of spinal meningitus at 13 months of age. Be sure and see my pictures. :) Well, I married a man with a bible degree who was going to be a preacher, and the best moments of our marriage have been those few years when he was a church elder and I was a preacher's wife. :) We've done other sideline ministries along the way, too, and have even considered the mission field, but the Lord hasn't opened up the doors yet for that. He also got his master's in computer science after we married and is currently an IT manager. We've always "home birthed" and "homeschooled". Yes, life has been difficult with job loss, financial difficulties, etc. And I have a very difficult chronic illness called Multiple Chemical Sensitivity along with Candida, etc. But the Lord has held us in His arms through it all! Have you ever felt this way? I wrote this about 10 years ago.. ---- Nothing matter(s) anymore except to LIVE IN THE ARMS OF JESUS and to MEDITATE IN HIS WORD day and night! He is becoming my "city of habitation", my "secret dwelling and hiding place"! He is becoming my "TREASURE CHEST OF HOLY JOY"! (Term coined by Dr. John Piper) Yes, one of my favorite verses is: Psalm 18:28 For thou wilt LIGHT MY CANDLE: the LORD my God will ENLIGHTEN MY DARKNESS. Yes, He has LIT my candle! In the midst of great sickness, He has "set me on fire" and made His Word my DELIGHT! I believe it is the thing that is keeping me alive! HOW SWEET ALL AT ONCE IT WAS FOR ME to be rid of those fruitless joys which I had once feared to lose!.. You drove them from me, you who are the true, the sovereign joy. You drove them from me and took their place, you who are sweeter than all pleasure... O Lord my God, my Light, my Wealth, and my Salvation. Augustin...Expand for more
