Sherry's Story
Life
Married to Randy for over 56 years. We have three children, six grandchildren ranging from the ages of 31 to 3 years. Have a great-grandson age 4 years. I was on the FOIL Board (Friends of Indiana Libraries) and past president of the same (2 years) also past president (7 years) of Anderson Friends of the Library. I have been on our Friends Board for 20 years and now have retired as my eyesight is getting worse. I still am my church librarian.. Have volunteered almost all my adult life, giving back some of the joy that I have received in my lifetime. My interests are reading, knitting, shopping, traveling, making friends and volunteering. This gal didn't like computers, I was afraid of them, but now use them everyday.. Two of my children are in the drama field. Mary is a professor of drama at a university in Arkansas and is the Arkansas Chair of The Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. Jim is a wonderful director, is in in...Expand for more
dependent movies in his spare time and now is in a Hollywood film called 'Fire From Below' staring Kevin Sorbo. They sure didn't get that talent from me. I love all of that but I sure wouldn't get up on stage. My other daughter, Karen, sews for a living so all of my three kids are very talented. I don't like to sew either. If you remember me send an e-mail. My mother, Mary Lou is still living and is 98 years old. My father, Coach Harold Anson died January 1964.
In (2008) my pen pal of 58+ years, Heather and I finally met for the first time. She and her husband Peter came to visit us for several days on their way to British Columbia to visit their daughter. The whole experience was a complete joy. It was like we had seen each other the day before. We traveled to England in August 2009 for 10 days and visited them and their family. It was a trip of a lifetime. They came back and visited us for 7 days August of 2010. Oh, GOD is good.
