Sheryl's Story
I've been married for 26+ years and I have three kids. I am in my 19th year of teaching middle school--8th graders (gotta love 'em!). I always wanted to be a teacher from as far back as I can remember....I took kind of a circuitous route to get there....didn't start teaching until I was about 38 or so, but I finally did realize my goal. My husband was hugely helpful in this; he worked a couple of jobs so I could be a full time student...what a guy! I plan to work until I am about 63 or so...maybe longer if I'm up for it. My husband just retired, so I don't want to work too much longer, but....need the $$$!! snow...mostly....we get a bit of both, but not too much of either. Our youngest daughter is my little girl and she is turning 33 next month--I still can't believe I am old enough to have a kid that old??? Our oldest daughter is my husband's girl and she is turning 40 next month. Our middle child is my husband's son and he is 36 at the moment. Both girls live in California and our son lives in Iowa. We have a grandson that is 18 and three other grands that are between 9 and 15. Both of my parents have passed and so I find myself part of the oldest generation in the family....I even have great nieces and nephews! I've been very fortunate and very blessed in my family and life....no complaints, all in all.
